Meet the team – Navin Nandra

BY TOM HART | June 5, 2020

Meet Campaign Professional Navin, a super cool and effortlessly trendy guy with a collapsible bike. He has a great attitude to life and a beautiful baby boy called Jazz.

Could you explain a little more about your position as a Campaign Professional (CP)?

I have been with KMG since the early days and I have always been working on the campaign management and set up side of things. From working with big multi-national enterprises, to local dentists. My experience is very varied. We are a results driven agency and essentially, I am in between the digital consultants and the Account Managers, making sure our clients get the best service and campaign performance.

Describe a typical working day for you as a CP?

A typical working day for me is waking up fresh and invigorated ready to cycle into the office. I will have a shower in the lovely office showers. I arrive to work a little bit early to have my breakfast and get set up at my desk. I then go through all of my emails and begin pulling campaign reports. I look at the key metrics for all the campaigns under my supervision and prioritise my day based on the data from the reports. I work closely with AMs and sales guys and make sure all our clients are happy. I manage tracking which is a vital element of any campaign that we run. This takes up a large portion of my day so I'm quite often seen using tools such as Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Facebook Events Manager.

What made you go into digital marketing?

Working in digital marketing was a natural progression from the jobs that I have had previously. In the past, I have worked on affiliate campaigns and other areas of digital marketing. I have worked both client side and agency side, so I have all round experience.

Why do you like being a CP?

I feel that I genuinely enjoy what I’m doing and being at work. I like working with the clients and the team and doing what I am doing so that is a big motivation. Other than that, l like solving challenges and coming up with solutions. It satisfies my creative and analytical sides as I get to be a bit creative with ad content and I am always analysing campaign results. These strengths of mine compliment the work and the CP role.

What is your favourite PPC or SEO metric and why?

With PPC, the metrics you look at, work with each other to give you the whole story. Seeing that I am heavily involved in the tracking side of our performance marketing solution, for me the metrics with conversions are the first ones that I would look at when a campaign is in provisioning. These show meaningful conversions: ecommerce sales, lead form enquiries and phone calls.

What has been your favourite moment working at KMG?

Honestly, there have been so many great moments at KMG, seeing the growth of the agency, it has been a pleasure being a part of it and being a part of the company at every stage.

What are you excited about in digital at the moment?

With the pandemic, it is unprecedented times for everybody, we need to look at how we can adapt our clients advertising efforts. We are consulting continuously in this time. For example, dental clients facilitate offering online video consultations rather than face to face. The public prior to lock down may not have been too keen on this but we are seeing a reactionary change of consumer behaviour.

If you didn’t work in digital, where would you work?

I love watching Grand Designs. I love any programme about building homes or even renovating cars, so I would say something along those lines in building or construction.

Where do you see KMG in 10 years?

We have got a great team, and the management has big ambitions. Considering how quickly we have grown already, I would like to say that KMG in 10 years’ time will be one of the most respected and well known agencies out there for being creative and innovative. Keeping the culture but on a bigger scale.

What do you do in your free time?

Being a new father, my son takes up a great deal of my time outside of work which I am loving alongside my beautiful girlfriend.

Give us an interesting fact about one of your colleagues.

I remember speaking to our CEO, Kash once when we were bowling and he mentioned he used to do Taekwondo competitively at a national level.

And finally, in 3 words, how would your friends and family describe you?

Relaxed, down to earth and quirky
